Android latest OS version Jelly Bean is set to be launched by an Indian tablet manufacturer Wickedleak.
Indian tabs are ex
pected to be operating on Android latest OS by the end of Sep’12 to be precise in the last week of Sep ’12. This has been stated by an Indian tablet seller Wickedleak, per them their wammy series are ready to be upgraded to all new Jelly Bean by next month.
Tab series include Wammy Ethos , Wammy Plus & Wammy7 will be shipped with new OS September onwards, also the existing users of Wammy Series will be able to upgrade to this new OS by last week on Sep ’12.
Once this OS is installed this tablets can then also be upgraded any time without connecting the phone to a personal computer that is through ROM image and over the air. A company spokesperson also added that,” “With its unmatched combination of high performance, compatibility with 3G connectivity”
Wickedleak officials also stated “Building on our success with Low cost Tablets in India, Wickedleak is pleased to be a leader in bringing an Android 4.1 tablets to the market, to Offer an Android 4.1 tablet at such an affordable price point. We intend to be the leading marketer In the Indian tablet market.”
At Re 5249, Wammy7 gives you 7 inch screen , wifi connectivity , 3g external dongle, front camera for video conferencing , A10 1.2 Ghz processor , USB2.0 and Mini port to assist charging and data transfer, mini HDMI port and Ice cream sandwich to run is competitively priced to its competitor Micromax funbook and HCL Note.
If we include the phone calling and SMS then this gets converted to Wammy Plus which is fairly priced at Re 11999. WickedLeak is set to give tough competition to Ubislate II ( Aakash –II) which is now an over delayed phone , who has failed to gain any mileage on its publicity.
The current Wammy 7 tablet features the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android and comes with a 1.2 GHz, fueled with ARM Cortex A10 All Winner processor and has 512 MB, DDR3 RAM. The tablet easily delivers 1080p complete HD video streaming and comes with a dedicated 400 MHz GPU which provides full HD videos, interactive applications and advanced flash applications.
Today where as 1GB of internal memory for an android OS is considered to be a standard configuration, having 512 MB of internal memory may appear a notch less than what is expected by Wammy 7 to be able to deliver to its users.
On the other hand to make sure video watching experience is not effected by any of this, a separate 400 MHz GPU is placed to backup Full HD videos. Over all a well rated device who is expecting to compete with likes of Micromax funbook , HCL , Aakash Ubislate etc.. to gain the India’s middle segment market.
